in the westcoast greenlandic dialect, nukapiaraq means ‘boy.’
in the central yup’ik eskimo dialect, nukalpiaq means ‘man in his prime,’ or ‘good hunter and provider.’
$7.14 a gallon for gasoline
KOTZEBUE, ALASKA; i went to go fill up my 4wheeler with gasoline from the local NAPA store. one gallon cost me $7.14. that’s alot for one gallon. just think, gasoline costs more in some of the communities outside kotzebue. we pay $7.14 per gallon for unleaded gasoline.

two month check-up: post-cancer removal and...
on friday, i was in ankritz to meet with the doctor for my two month check-up. they did some lab work and checked my blood. its been about two months (9 weeks) since the operation to remove stage 1 cancer and 3 weeks since my single dose of chemotherapy.
so, what’d the doc say? my follow-up doctor is dr. marino from anmc. great doc. he’s also a hunter, so we make good company. ...
